With its breathtaking views of the Yorkshire Dales, Richmond Castle fully deserves its place as one of the finest tourist attractions in North Yorkshire. The castle was originally built to subdue the unruly North of England it is one of the greatest Norman fortresses in Britain.
THE GEORGIAN THEATRE
The Georgian Theatre Royal, Britain’s oldest working theatre in its original form, is both a thriving community playhouse and a living theatre museum.
GREEN HOWARDS MUSEUM
Telling the story of this illustrious regiment using our unique collection of military artefacts and intensely personal items. Based in the heart of Richmond, North Yorkshire.
Richmondshire Museum was founded in 1974 by the Richmond and Dales Soroptimists and opened in 1978. Since then much has been added to make the attraction a ‘must’ for any visitor to the town. The building appears small on the outside but is a veritable ‘Tardis’ once entered.
YORKSHIRE DALES DISTILLERY
The recently opened Yorkshire Dales Distillery is based near to Richmond, on the Colburn Business Park. Specialising in distilling Gin and Vodka – using locally sourced water, botanicals and there own special recipe.Tours available.

MOCHA CHOCOLATE SHOP
Mocha Chocolate Shop is situated on Trinity Square – this is a haven of handcrafted chocolates. With a selection of over 90 individually handmade chocolates; pick exciting new flavours to try, fill your box with old favourites, or perhaps a bit of both!
Addtionally they serve amazing coffee and gluten free cakes.
KING STREET KITCHEN & GIFTS
King Street Kitchen & Gifts is a fantastic kitchen and gift shop, located in King Street. Richmond. With a range of kitchen accessories, gifts and cards – the shop is full on an eclectic mix of British led design. Made (where possible) in the UK.
ROOTS & SHOOTS FLORISTS
William and Elizabeth Gardner took over the business in April 2018.
With a beautiful new look and some new introduction to the business, this now includes Wedding, Gifts and Events.
NEEPS & TATTIES
Neeps & Tatties is a greengrocers shop based in the heart of Richmond marketplace. They selling high quality fresh fruit and vegetables from their friendly shop. They also sell and deliver fresh veg boxes on a weekly basis.
Additionally at Christmas they sell quality Christmas trees, delivered to your door.
Ravensworth Nurseries are based near Richmond in the picturesque village or Ravensworth.
It is a family run business involved in the production of Bedding and Pot plants and has been established in Ravensworth for 50 years. The Watch ’em Grow range of Starter plants, seedlings and plugs was developed at Ravensworth Nurseries 20 years ago and is raised from cuttings and seeds on site.
